At North African Media Academy, we believe that the digital transformation phase in media that the world is experiencing today is an opportunity for innovation, with the aim of creating authentic media content capable of expressing the reality of the region. We invite all those interested and working in the media field to join this training platform, which seeks to provide a variety of training that keeps pace with the requirements of this transformation and provides an environment that encourages free thinking and discussion.

Trainers:

Muzaffar Salman

Muzaffar is a Syrian photojournalist living in France. His resume includes working with the Associated Press (AP) and Reuters, covering the revolution and war in Syria. His photographs have published in most international newspapers and magazines, and have made it on the cover of many outlets, including the New York Times.

Walid Mejri

Tunisian journalist, writer and researcher, founder and editor-in-chief of the online magazine Al-qatiba. Co-founder and former editor-in-chief of the online magazine inkyfada. And former editor-in-chief of the Arabic newspaper "Akher Khabar".
Professional trainer in investigative journalism, interactive story writing, web journalism, mobile journalism and fact-checking.

Reda Fhelboom

Libyan lecturer, journalist and human rights activist. He is the head of the Libyan Organization for Independent Media. He is holding a certificate of training in higher education from Manchester/Britain, and participated in ToTs with Deutsche Welle Academy and BBC Media Action in 2012. He was a pioneer in the first Libyan project for hate speech monitoring in 2017.

Sahar Mediha Alnaas

Sahar is an independent Libyan researcher and advisor on gender in MENA based in the UK. She has experience with public and private NPOs in the UK, Malta, Tunisia and Libya. Her focus is on coordinating, training, advising and providing consultancy services.

The platform provides various trainings in the field of media, whether in terms of readable, audio or visual content, in stages of preparing the material or implementing it technically, then publishing, broadcasting or uploading it on the Internet, and we also offer courses in the digital content creating, and technical courses supports the concept of digital transformation in media.


How can I participate in the courses that interest me in the Academy?

At first, you have to create an account on the platform, then you can send an application attached with your CV on the academy email: [email protected], and the link to participate in the course will be sent to you via email.   If the course is open and not in the form of a live sessions anymore, you can enter the course and view the content available on the platform

Does North African Media Academy provide certificates when attending the workshops?

We offer certificates of attendance for some, but not all, courses.
